Mr. Bredemeyer has served in the transportation industry for over 27 years. He has held positions as the senior corporate officer with responsibility for all equipment and real estate matters. He is thoroughly knowledgeable in equipment specification and engineering, purchase and lease negotiations, equipment trade cycle determination, maintenance cost budgeting, cost controls, shop engineering, purchasing and inventory control of parts, shop computerization, development and implementation of shop policies and procedures, development and implementation of technician training and qualification programs, and management of repair facilities. Acquisition, development, construction management and disposal of real estate assets are also areas of expertise. He was Vice President-Equipment and Properties for Merchants, Inc., served on the Board of Directors for Merchants Fast Motor Lines, Inc., Director of Parts and Service for Texas Kenworth Co, Inc., Vice President of Maintenance for Coastal Transport Co., Inc., and President and Owner of Morning Star Drilling, Inc. These positions have given him responsibility for over 5000 vehicles, and real estate holdings in six states with a value in excess of $20 million. The fleets under his control consistently had lower costs per mile than 95% of the fleets in America. As an active member of The Fleet Maintenance Council of Texas Motor Transportation Association, he has served in numerous positions, including Chairman. He was the founder and first Chairman of the Big Country Maintenance Council. Mr. Bredemeyer is also a member of The Maintenance Council of the American Trucking Association, and the Society of Automotive Engineers. In 1990 he was listed in “Who’s Who of Southwest Business Executives”, was the cover story for “Diesel Equipment Superintendent” Magazine in 1992, and received the “Distinguished Award for Excellence in Maintenance” from the Texas Motor Transportation Association in 1992. He was the subject for a feature story for “Steering Wheel” magazine in January, 2000. Mr. Bredemeyer initiated and assisted in implementing the National Motor Transportation Certification Program for Fleet Maintenance, sponsored by Texas A & M University and was one of the first to become a Certified Maintenance Professional at the Director Level. In addition he was instrumental in implementing the Texas State Technician of the Year Competition as sponsored by the Texas Motor Transportation Association. Mr. Bredemeyer frequently serves as a speaker at transportation industry meetings and seminars. He regularly serves as instructor for Maintenance Certification Courses sponsored by Texas A&M University and the Texas Motor Transportation Association. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from Texas Tech University, is also a graduate of the Karass School of Negotiation, and served in the United States Air Force as an instructor pilot and primary instructor for revising and updating the T-37 aircraft systems manual for the Air Training Command. |
