Captain Gerald E. Disler

Gerald E. Disler holds U.S. Coast Guard licenses as Master, 16oo Gross Tons; Operator of Uninspected Towing Vessels upon Great Lakes and Inland Waters and Chief Engineer Motor of Unlimited Horsepower. He also has endorsements as any unlicensed rating in the deck department and any unlicensed rating in the engine department.

Captain Disler has acquired over 35 years of experience as a U.S. Merchant Marine Officer in inland and offshore towing to include crew boats, utility boats and supply vessels; offshore construction to include lay barges, jet barges, derrick barges and dredges, and also on board tankers, freighters and RoRo's. He also has extensive experience in shipyard repairs and is a third generation of U.S. Merchant Marine Officers.

Captain Disler has also taught license preparation courses in Nautical Science and Marine Engineering and has produced many nautical book reviews on the Barnes and Noble and Amazon.com internet sites. A list of publications is available on request.
