She is the co-author of "Gender Differences at Work"", a groundbreaking national study of management performance in the U.S. that received international acclaim. The study has been featured in USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, and many other major newspapers; on CNN and The Today Show, NBC, and as well as numerous professional and business magazines and media outlets around the world.

Prior to entering the consulting field, Ms. Irwin held executive level management positions in operations, marketing, sales, and public relations in such diverse industries as software, furniture manufacturing/distribution, architectural design and engineering, advertising and public relations and, later, consulting services.

She has delivered over 70 speeches at major conferences on topics related to the above mentioned subjects and has written numerous articles for publications such as The Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe, leading professional magazines, and more recently, she has been interviewed on the AT&T Network's Events and Discussions internet site.

Appointed by the Governor of California to chair a state-wide task force on employment issues for people over age forty in 1992, she continues to provide leadership in this capacity; she has been a Director on the board of Career Encores since 1991; she is a past President of Women in Business , Past Vice President of Women in Business International, Past Vice President of the International Association of Outplacement Consulting Firms and has been involved in numerous community service organizations. And, she was named a Woman of the Year in 1994 by NAWBO (the National Association of Women Business Owners). She is listed in Who's Who World Wide, Who's Who in CaliforniaWho's Who in the West.

Ms. Irwin is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, the American Society of Training & Development and the Organizational Development Network.
