Joel J. Forman, Senior Member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). His ASA accredition is valid until 2010 and has a current USPAP until 2010. He is also a Certified Member of the Association of Online Appraisers, has a: Masters of Science in Valuation Science, a Masters of Science in Computer Science, and a Bachelors of Arts in Mathematics. A widely published numismatic expert, he has consulted to museums while maintaining a private appraisal practice. He has served as an expert witness. The professional organizations that he belongs to are: American Numismatic Association, life member; American Historical Association, and the Numismatic Association of Southern California, life member. Joel Forman is an appraiser broker who can assist clients with any type of appraisal, by bringing in the appropriate appraisal expert. Approximately six (6) percent of Americans are serious coin collectors. The vast majority possess modern nation state coinage. That is, coins minted since the latter part of the 18th century. Since counterfeits are known to exist, and I am not an authenticator, recommendations will be made in selective cases to have valuable or suspect coins authenticated. This is particularly true of coins from the ancient world.
